Timber Grades

Standard

Export Standard Grade is a COL (cut of log) grade allowing sound pith. More common to Radiata Pine produced in Australia where the knot structure is generally sound and smaller as logs are slower growing and smaller in diameter. This grade has been used in Australia for general retail applications and furniture manufacturing. In export markets it is used in furniture manufacturing where knots are featured in the finished product. There is no grade definition of knot spacing as this is an appearance grade. Available in Sawn KD and S4S KD. Availability in these finishes is subject to the sizes the mills produce.

Radiata Pine Export Standard Grade (F.O.P.)
Some mills produce Export Standard Grade Free of Pith (F.O.P.). There is still a small allowance for wandering pith, up to 5% maximum, in this grade.
